Pepsi India encourages you to have sugar-free choices; hence its most recent advertisement is for Pepsi Black’s zero calorie variant and its modified packaging. It’s interesting to note that this commercial that features Jacqueline Fernandez is a remake of the iconic Pepsi commercial from 1992 that had Cindy Crawford in it. In both the ads, two boys gaze at the new Pepsi instead of the actresses as they halt at a gas station for a quick drink.
Saumya Rathore, Pepsi Cola Category Head, commented on the rollout in a release, saying that with more folks looking for sugar-free choices, especially post pandemic, and with a goal to deliver more wise alternatives to consumers, they are all prepared to launch the new Pepsi Black that brings max taste without sugar in it.
According to brand consultant Abhimanyu Mishra from Brandfizz, there is always a fierce rivalry in the beverage industry, but that isn’t the only factor that sometimes contributes to the drop in sales. There is a bigger trend to consider as well, and that’s more individuals selecting healthy beverages these days in place of sodas, which is why a brand’s outreach to entice that segment is a given.
Saumya further added that working with the stunning Jacqueline Fernandez, who perfectly fits their goal of remaking the legendary Cindy Crawford commercial, has also been terrific. They are optimistic that this campaign will be well-received by the audiences and will go on to create waves in the country as it did worldwide at that point of time.
This happens to be the first Pepsi Cola advertisement ever since the company named Leo Burnett as the official creative agency for all of its brands in India. Leo Burnett did not develop this advertisement, though.
A comprehensive 360-degree campaign encompassing outdoor, TV, digital, and social media will be used to showcase the new Pepsi Black TVC. The new matte cans are offered at all contemporary and conventional retail locations in India as well as on major e-commerce portals.
